A Message From Enrique
"My methodology is erosion. The principles of our work, though simple, have no abstract value. It is through practice that they become second nature. The work is based on analogical thinking, not symbolism. That is, in chains of associations that link the cards with some aspect of life, instead of memorizing closed binomials where “this” means “that” and nothing else. We hope to build a malleable mind. This has a lot to do with movement, with the way the figures in the cards express their gestures. We will not make use of any occult or psychological correspondences. I’ll give you the bare bones of a system into which you can incorporate everything you know about the tarot. However, it is not necessary to have any prior knowledge about the cards. We will work from the concrete reality of the images, from their condition as visual objects. The idea in these lessons is to do one exercise every day for a month or the equivalent of 30 exercises. We will work via email. Each exercise has the same setup: You will pick three trump cards from the Marseille Tarot and describe what you see. I will offer you my comments and corrections. We will thus develop a dialogue around the images in which I will give you tools to answer questions with them. We will use the cards to understand the propensity of things, then we will see how that understanding can be expanded to the processes of reality. The cost is $200, sent via PayPal. We will work at your pace. If you need to take a few days, we will stop and then resume our work when you can do it. Initially, I will send you two essays to read. This will constitute the only theoretical material of the course. From there, the work is eminently practical. The essays are not the course. Most of the knowledge is transmitted through dialogue, in response to each of the exercises, so that the work with each person is different, adjusted to their needs and to the questions that arise throughout our work together. The ideas transmitted through this practice will not only allow you to read the tarot with ease, but can also be applied to any other system such as bones, clouds, random objects, or the walk of ants." |
